A Racing Legend has passed
«

A friend told me last night that Dwight Thorn passed away yesterday.
Dwight was the inventor and builder of the "Mouse Motor". He transformed the merlin into a high powered
race motor that could last the entire week of racing and run at top power. He had some failures along the way
but always improved and learned from anything gone sideways. The final product was a winning race engine
that put two of the fastest ever P-51s on the podium several times at Reno.
Dwight had a stroke in 2006 and has been in poor health since.
Blue Skies and checkered pylons.
